Vision Sunday
We had an awesome time with those who are involved in Mountain View Church. Julina and I were reflecting on our previous experience in church planting in Memphis and comparing the work in Chattanooga. I know comparisons can get very tricky. I enjoyed our time in Memphis and have some wonderful relationships that continue to this day. Having said that I really think we are farther down the road in our Chattanooga church.
Our people are coming together, there was an energy in the room that fueled my own faith and I believe that we are poised for great ministry in the future.
Some churches seem to be geared around the “hour on Sunday” worship service. All effort, resources, creativity, and even ministry is defined by this experience. I realize that Sunday morning is pivotal but I have always been much more interested in becoming a fully functioning biblical community that does life together. I get immense satisfaction to see the faith of our people worked out in daily life. As a leader I also get excited to see our people rally together in order to achieve the next goal or missional objective.
All of that to say what an incredible group of people I serve in Chattanooga and what incredible potential we see in the future!
